With its beautiful mountain landscapes and variety of routes and trails, cycling is a popular activity in Zillertal. You will find several marked cycling trails that lead through the valley, through picturesque villages, over the hills to the very tops of the mountains. There are also specially marked "single trails".

For more demanding cyclists, there are challenges such as the Zillertal High Alpine Road butif you prefer more relaxing bike tours, you can take a ride through the valley along the Ziller River and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

 

E-bike

Electric bikes have become very popular in Zillertal in recent years. They allow visitors to explore the peaks of even the highest mountains without prior training. Even some local restaurants and pubs have adapted to this trend and allow cyclists to recharge their batteries at charging stations. Some of our favourite stops for electric bikes are the Legalhütte and Kreuzwiesenalm huts.

Take your bike up with cable car

Zillertal Arena i Mayrhofner Bergbahnen now make it easier for cyclists to reach the peaks without the initial difficult climb up. In fact, they allow athletes to take their bikes with them using the cable car. Even less fit cyclists can now enjoy the beautiful mountain trails!
